Does Dribbble still work in 2024?
If you’re thinking about diving into the wild world of freelancing, this question might be haunting you, too.
As a designer in this digital age, there’s a buffet of platforms to choose from, but my old soul needed to know if Dribbble still had its mojo.
So, I put on my virtual lab coat and decided to run an experiment. I checked out the profiles of some famous design studios and top-notch designers on Dribbble. Lo and behold, most of them were posting daily or every other day. Intrigued, I challenged myself to post something every day for a month.
To keep me accountable, I roped a friend into this experiment and we turned it into a bet: who could keep up the daily posting streak.
What happened next was a delightful shock to my soul. Just a week into my daily Dribbble hustle, my inbox started buzzing with client requests. And here’s the kicker — while many came from Dribbble, I also got hits from Behance, LinkedIn, and even my personal website. It turns out, if you’re consistently putting your work out there, clients will find you.
Dribbble might seem like a crowded party with designers packed wall to wall, but guess what? Clients do notice you if you show up regularly. Having a solid portfolio website helps, too. Clients want to know more about you, your style, and your story.
So, what about you? Which platforms have helped you land those sweet freelance gigs? Share your secrets!
